Night Slashers X is an old school beat 'em up with a retro pixel art look. It's a fun little game, with a wide variety of enemies to fight and up to three different endings depending on which character you play.

The premise is simple: save humanity from a world overrun by monsters. The evil King Zarutz plans to turn the entire planet into a Kingdom for the Dead, inhabited by zombies, werewolves and other grotesque creatures. Help the lead trio of Jake Hunter, Christopher Smith and Zhao Hong Hua to battle their way through hordes of zombies, werewolves, mummies and other creatures to terminate Zarutz's plans.

With six different types of weapons to use and a variety of attacks, there's a lot to enjoy in Night Slashers X. There's eight levels to explore, a range of enemies and enough material to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Created by OpenBOR member BonusJZ, Night Slashers X is an unofficial fangame remake of the 1993 arcade game. It is very similar to the original, but with upgraded visuals and more enemies.

It has three characters (Jake Hunter, Christopher Smith and Zhao Hong Hua) each with their own unique move-sets. It also features Ash from The Evil Dead, who can't pick up or use weapons, but he's still deadly when you throw him in front of the monsters with his boomstick.

The game is made with the OpenBOR engine in good old Beat 'em up style. It's a bit hard, though, and only offers two continues per game. However, the game's retro pixel art visuals look great and the old school beat 'em up gameplay has aged well.
